The event dedicated to the forest’s autumn delicacy – mushrooms is one of the largest autumn festivals in northwestern Istria. This two-day program is designed for all mushroom and nature enthusiasts, as well as those interested in educational activities, aiming to deepen knowledge of mycology and raise awareness about forest conservation, proper mushroom picking, and recognizing different mushroom species. Saturday – Education and Mushroom Picking: Lectures on various medicinal herbs, their therapeutic properties, and uses Guided forest walks and mushroom picking Afternoon social gathering with live music on the main square Sunday – Gastronomy and Entertainment: Mushroom “kotlić” cooking competition Tastings of dishes prepared from seasonal autumn products Special entertainment program for all visitors Throughout the weekend, visitors can explore an exhibition of 250 mushroom specimens, with information about their role in ecosystems, nutritional value, and safe identification of edible, inedible, and poisonous species. The event is complemented by a local products fair, featuring extra virgin olive oil, wine, cheese, honey, mushrooms, chestnuts, jams, pastries, and other local delicacies.
