The Church of Our Lady of Lourdes

FEW WORDS ABOUT THE CHURCH OF OUR LADY OF LOURDES

The church of Our Lady of Lourdes was built in 1929 at the urging of a resident, Marina Pirovich, claiming inspiration in 1922. Giorgio Radin’s family donated the land, and almost all locals contributed to the construction (the stone from a nearby quarry owned by Radin). Its unique altar is made to resemble the cave of Lourdes in which Our Lady appeared to the little girl Beatrice. The church houses statues of Our Lady and St. Bernadette. The front of the church ends with three small bell-towers. The bell-tower, high 12 m, was built in 1936.
